The Morning Read

Personal Blog

Happy Shelter-in-place Spring 2020! We're doing fine and we're starting to get some warmer (a;most hot) weather in Sacramento! We've a little rain since March after a no rain February. The Snapdragons are blooming everywhere with highs in the upper 80s. The roses are blooming every color.

Classes at the Sacramento Renaissance Society were in full swing for the spring semester when they were cancelled to due SARS-COV2 (as is everything else). I took a position on the board and am working in the continuous improvement group to figure out offering distance learning for seniors.

I am golfing occasionally still but even with social distancing rules and no touch common objects (i.e., flags, carts, etc.) may give that up - just the thought of exposure is pretty scary. I am reading some great fiction, drama and thrillers, and the occasional political analysis (see goodreads-chuck-wiseley to see what I'm reading). Thank you public library and ebooks! I've finished Thinner this Year (enjoyed it thoroughly) as I've just reach my weight goal of losing28 lbs since January. Started of Patterson's new Alex Cross book "Ali". The Jane Hawk series (Dean Koontz), The Alpha Predator and Killer Collective are also recent favorites. If you want to know why the response to the pandemic is social distancing rather than contact tracing like other countries, read THE FIFTH RISK which is about lack of management at the top.

Anyhow, Click the menu items at the top or side to check out the site.

Thanks for your visit.

Note: Because of my close relationship with Mrs. Murphy (of Murphy's Law), my web site host has chaged something so updates haven't been showing up along with Microsoft and many websites no longer support FrontPage extensions or sharepoint designer (which I used to design these pages) so I will probably have to convert to less powerful (free) software when SharePoint Designer 2007 on Win 7 is no longer supported. I currently am coding by hand so if you find a good one, please let me know.
